What is nutritional coaching - nutritional coaching
Nutritional Coaching is a process through which the patient identifies and overcomes his or her obstacles, creates the appropriate environment and adopts the attitude and determination necessary to achieve a change in his or her diet, thus improving other aspects of his or her person and lifestyle.
With Nutritional Coaching we work beyond the dietary plan. We work on the definition of the goal to be achieved, the motivation for this goal, the possible obstacles and barriers that may appear during the treatment, the emotions related to food, the person's environment, the practice of physical activity... That is to say, it is not only focused on food and weekly menus, but it deals with various issues that for some reason interfere in the diet of the person who is wanting to make a change in their diet.
The aim is for the person to be the protagonist of his or her plan, to become aware of what he or she wants and what he or she needs to achieve it. Nutritional Coaching focuses the patient towards solutions, maintaining motivation and looking for resources in him/herself that he/she may not have known he/she had.
In any case, not everyone needs Nutritional Coaching to achieve their nutritional goals, not everyone needs the motivational reinforcement that coaching entails, so everyone should choose one type of advice or another according to their needs and predisposition.
