Transcription Tips for a productive day
Give yourself the opportunity to celebrate small victories. You need to develop muscle memory as a highly productive person. Not every day will be the one where you wake up and the first thing you do is climb Mount Everest.
There is a school of thought that suggests you should always start by doing the hardest thing, "eating the frog." After that, everything else becomes easier. I don't want you to put off the big, important task, but I think it's important to incorporate certain activities into your daily life and routine where you can complete them and feel accomplished.
These activities are not necessarily complicated, but they are beneficial to you. For example, I work out with weights every day. Before you get too impressed, I should clarify that I only spend 6 minutes a day lifting weights, but at the end of the month, when you add it all up, it is significant.
I work out with weights much more often and for more minutes a month than almost anyone my age that I know. In my work environment, I go for a run every day.
Again, before you get too impressed, let me clarify that I only run for one minute a day on the treadmill, but it gets my blood moving. In addition, I walk for an hour a day and try to reach 12,500 steps a day according to the counter I have here.
This gives me a sense of accomplishment:
- Is this the most important thing?
- Am I ignoring my friends and family as I walk aimlessly?
That would be sad, but it's not what I do:
- I try to incorporate walking into my life as much as possible. So at the end of the day, when I take off my watch, I see that 95% of the time I've accomplished my goal.
- And that gives me another sense of accomplishment. None of these things are extremely important on their own, but they add up. They give me an overall sense of having goals and being able to achieve them.
So not everything has to be a major professional goal, like writing a New York Times bestseller or having an online course that generates $10 million a month. Not everything has to be a huge goal. Sometimes, they can be small personal goals and when you achieve them, especially on a daily basis, they give you confidence and a sense of being a highly productive person.
