The objectives - coaching business
Although many authors consider goals and objectives to be the same, it can be said that goals are qualitative and targets are qualitative. For example, "I am going to buy a house", could be a goal, but if you add, say "... in two years", you would specify the goal.
There is a technique to fully define the objectives, which is the SMART method [abbreviation in English] that indicates that the objective must be precise, measurable, achievable, realistic and must take time into account.
The SMART method can be illustrated as follows. >What I want? to become independent as such, does not reveal strengths and weaknesses to achieve it.
So using this technique we can exemplify it like this:
Time: your goal is in 2 or 3 years you will recognize.
To set goals, it is important to identify the situation in which a person is at this moment:>How do I feel at this moment?>In what circumstances are we in with our families?>In what situation with friends?>In what situation with work or school?>What worries me?>Can I solve my problem or does someone else depend on its solution?
When setting goals in training, certain aspects must be taken into account: in case of not achieving the goal, it is important to define it yourself and it will depend on following a pattern: >Why do I want to achieve this? >How long?
Determine the time to achieve the goal: It is completely normal to fall into a depressive state of not achieving the goal in the time and manner that was originally raised, to avoid this it is best to remember. If the pace is slower, review everything and get back on track, finally remember the dream you set out and what you want when you achieve it.
What is my current situation? >What have I done in my life to be here? What did I do to achieve my goal? >What should I expect after I achieve my goal? >What will I do to achieve my goals in spite of failure? >How long will it take me to reach my goal? >What resources do I need to achieve my goals?
Consider that nothing is easy and time-consuming: keep a record of the changes you want to make.
Presence of distractions to achieve goals: In planning it is important to consider that there are both positive and negative distractions, therefore it is advisable to dedicate extra time and maintain an extreme positive attitude towards these distractions.
Reward: Do not think about what has not been achieved despite your best efforts. Do not despair, it is important to do your best and change things in the plan. Investigate the causes of non-goals.
Work: achieving goals can be difficult, but making sure you continue to achieve results is even more difficult. Goals must be relevant, set them correctly, have the necessary tools, and stay motivated.
In coaching it is essential that the coache sets goals, the coach should not tell you the goals to achieve.
Values are principles that help guide behavior to achieve desired results. People act based on values, experiences and circumstances. A person who is clear about his or her values will have a clear and free boundary in the way he or she views life.
In case of shock, it is good to determine the manual values encryption of behavior and, depending on whether the action plan is determined to achieve individual goals, because something is done that is not in accordance with the values. Of the individual, it is not fulfilled.
Therefore, it should be encouraged in skills that correspond to values, beliefs and goals. Trainers and coaches conduct vocational training in which values or trust can be restricted to identify or promote this process. After that, the coach must detect and find the production of self-learning beliefs.
Since the coach considers a client's values, beliefs, goals and objectives, he or she can develop a better strategy for coaching.
