The principles - coaching business
Life coaching is a high responsibility, the relationship between the coach and a coach goes beyond the transmission of information, the coach will at all times seek to enhance his mirror neurons. This causes, as a result of unconditional mirroring, that he will try to imitate his coach as much as possible. It means that the coach is not only a source of information emission, but represents a series of principles and constructs generated and received in the coach's mind.
Having said this, we consider it crucial to highlight a series of essential principles that we must promote in our coaching sessions, although they are not the only ones, they are basic and necessary to carry out a successful session with good results.
Trust within a coaching relationship is possibly the most important attribute that exists, the coach cannot be expected to make the content received his own if he does not trust the source that issues it. That is why we must be honest at all times, a small failure in this regard can completely lose the relationship built between the two. The coach must be transparent in his knowledge, not try to address aspects he does not master or try to solve problems for which he has not been properly prepared.
Empathy is a valuable resource when we use it in our sessions. Being empathic is the ability to put ourselves in the other person's place, this means that we must get rid of preconceived ideas and prejudices that may cloud our reason and try to think and feel like the other person. If we are able to enter into the depths of the feelings and the state of mind of the person we are exchanging with, we will be able to shape the development of the session towards a scenario where we capture the attention and interest of the listener, which in the end will be what determines whether that person succeeds in apprehending the knowledge received.
Positivity as a value in a coaching session is the ability to always keep an eye towards the best version of the near future. This does not mean that we should be delusional or utopian in our desires, only that we should visualize the result we expect, a result that is ambitious but realistic, possible to achieve in the short or medium term. In this way we can focus our actions and decisions towards the path we want to follow, make our coach see what the objectives are, in a clear and precise way, always transmitting the idea that we will work hard to achieve them.
Passion is that force that makes us persistent in the face of what we cannot get out of our minds. Working with passion and loving what we do is the most powerful engine that human beings have. There is no company that can be achieved if we do not put passion in the work we have to do for it. When we are passionate, we are always capable of giving a little more, of increasing our sacrifice and defending what we love.
It is essential to know how to transmit this value, not in an imposing way, but being able to awaken it in the person who listens to us, showing him the results he will obtain if he persists in his efforts, leading him through the coaching session towards what he hopes to achieve and that is there waiting for him.
This series of principles may seem simple to understand, but it is complex to apply, try to work every day because they are more present in your sessions, remember that as we said at the beginning, a coach is not only a source of information, but a person to whom your coach has lent his time and trust.
