The possibility of change

The coaching process would not exist were it not for the idea of the possibility of change established as a universal law. Recognition of our potentials

Coaching responds to a very clear premise: to develop to the maximum the potentials of the client who requires the service. Although during the process the coachee is also given the opportunity to develop new skills, the process really focuses on bringing to light capabilities that the individual possesses but does not exploit to the fullest. The reasons for this phenomenon can be various, such as lack of motivation, lack of self-confidence, generalized insecurity, depression or anxiety, unfair or unfortunate experiences. All possible causes require complex treatments, which imply an insight on the part of the coach in terms of diagnosis and follow-up. Likewise, merit is assured, there is nothing as powerful as an individual who recognizes all his or her potentials and operates them as needed.

Awareness: No matter how much discipline is put into the process or how much the dialogue is extended, the key factor and the one that indicates true readiness is awareness. Both coach and coachee must back up their presence with an awareness of their positions and the variables of the situation. The client should undertake the introspective exercise, under the guidance of the coach as he/she feels necessary. Discovering "who we are" is an impossible task, especially due to the changeability of our psychological matter, but getting closer to truths about ourselves is possible, and at the very least necessary. The path to personal success is determined by exercises that promote self-awareness and self-responsibility. The contribution of the coach lies in the conduction towards the discovery by means of an intelligent and empathic dialogue, marked by the genuine interest on who the other is.

Responsibility: It is a value of conscience that generates a more positive and integral reaction to situations, whatever they may be. Something important to keep in mind is that responsibility is not only manifested in making decisions consciously, but also in the ability to assume the consequences. In other words, responsibility is what makes it possible to process a consistent personality. Sometimes the individual may be aware of his situation, favorable or not, but in some way he is alienated, he has disengaged from his responsibility in the cause or possibility of changing his current context. Here is the coach's insertion, so that the coachee understands the power of his thoughts and actions, and how absolutely everything can be defining in terms of its results, the individual must create or regain the notion of his control over reality. Developing responsibility as a value fosters emotional security, personal validation, and also leads to the adoption of healthier mechanisms in daily life.
