Improve your image of self - life coaching

The way you perceive yourself significantly influences how others see you. The higher your self-esteem, the healthier and more productive your relationships will be. If you feel insecure about yourself, that insecurity and self-doubt will be projected outward, which can limit your opportunities, especially in business.

Create a mental image of what you want to project.

To become a successful and confident entrepreneur, it is essential that you organize in your mind how you want others to perceive you:

  • First, I suggest you reflect on the things that you believe make you less skilled and effective as an entrepreneur. Your goal should be to eradicate those ideas from your mind so they don't hold you back.
  • The mindset you maintain about business is a powerful tool, it can propel you forward or, conversely, hold you back. If you constantly focus on your mistakes and weaknesses, your mind will become accustomed to those thoughts. Constant fear will lead to failure.
  • In business meetings, networking events or when interacting with clients, your mindset is reflected in your behavior. Others will notice if you have self-doubt or an excessive fear of failure. This can result in you feeling pressured and underappreciated, as they will lose respect for you and what you do.
  • It is essential that you remove any vestiges of helplessness and self-doubt from your mind when managing your business.

Highlight your best skills

It is crucial that you are constantly aware of your capabilities, highlighting your most outstanding skills as an entrepreneur and as a person:

  • To do this, I suggest you review your Curriculum Vitae or resume, where all your knowledge and skills are reflected. Highlight the three areas in which you feel most competent. This will help you recognize that you are a capable person with a lot to offer and that you have been successful in previous ventures.
  • If you have not undertaken anything else so far, look back to identify all your skills and competencies. It could be your customer service skills, your computer skills or your language skills.
  • After identifying those three main areas where you are competent, try to narrow down other skills you possess, even if you are not an expert. Are you good at typing? Are you empathetic when communicating with others? Do you know how to motivate others? Add them to your repertoire of strengths.
  • This whole exercise is aimed at increasing your self-confidence, and that you always see yourself as a competent person with a lot to contribute. Fear of making mistakes cannot stop you.
  • If you do make a mistake, look at it as an opportunity to improve and grow in areas where you may not be as prepared.
  • In order for your clients, colleagues and associates to trust you and your venture, you must first be confident in everything you do.
