Cognitive-behavioral coaching

It is based on cognitive-behavioral psychology and problem solving. It seeks to create awareness about certain thoughts and change beliefs that hinder the objectives. It uses Ellis' ABCDEF model for emotional blocks.

Techniques applied:

  • Recordings
  • Evidence
  • Unlabeled
  • Cost-benefit analysis
  • Cold" thinking

Psychodynamic coaching

Based on the theories of the Tavistock Institute, it is useful in:

  • Role conflict [especially authority]
  • Delegation
  • Hostile environments
  • Leadership teams
  • Difficult relationships

Psychodynamic coaches focus on what is "below the surface" and the links within a system, interpreting relationships without making personal judgments.

Systematic-psychodynamic coaching [constellations]

Based on Bert Hellinger's constellation theory, it seeks to respect the laws of systems within an organization. The coach guides the client to identify compliance with these laws and to find equitable solutions for the team.

Strategic Coaching

Inspired by Giorgio Nardone, it focuses on resolving the client's confusion to achieve results. The coach helps identify strategies and competencies needed for the client to adopt more effective solutions.

Psychological Coaching

Based on Human Psychology and Gestalt Therapy. This approach encourages the client to explore the present and challenge limiting beliefs.

Tools: conversations with absent people, metaphors and stories.

Person-oriented coaching

Based on humanistic psychology and person-centered therapy [Rogers]. Radically trusts the client and is non-directive. The coach facilitates a growth environment without guiding the process.

Conditions of the coach:

  • Empathy: participate in the client's experience, without losing emotional independence.
  • Unconditional positive acceptance: accept the best and the worst of the client without judgment.
  • Authenticity and transparency: the coach must be genuine, showing his feelings without masks.

Relational Coaching

Founded by Joan Quintana, this method seeks to develop relational skills to improve satisfaction in work and life, building networks of healthy relationships.

Key actions:

  • Ask
  • Offer
  • Agree
  • Acknowledge
  • Listen
