The way you look at yourself will significantly influence the way other people see you. The more self-esteem you have, the more fruitful and healthy relationships you will have. When you feel unsure about yourself, you will project that insecurity and self-doubt, which will close many doors, especially in the business world.

Create a mental image of what you want to project.

To become a successful and self-confident entrepreneur it is essential that you organize in your mind how you want others to see you. To do this I first advise you to think about all the things that you think make you less skilled and effective as an entrepreneur. Your goal is to sweep them completely out of your mind, so they don't stop you from progressing.

The mindset you have about business is a very powerful weapon, as it can either help you move forward or hold you back. And when you are constantly thinking about your failures and weaknesses, your brain will get used to having those kinds of thoughts. Constant fear will cause you to fail.

When you participate in business meetings, networking events or contact clients, your thinking will show. Your interlocutors will know if you feel self-doubt or if you have excessive fear of failure. This can result in you feeling pressured and trampled on by everyone, as they lose respect for you and what you do.

You need to put all vestiges of helplessness and self-doubt out of your mind when conducting your business.

Highlight your best skills

You have to be conscious all the time to bring out what you are most capable of, to highlight your best abilities as an entrepreneur and as a person. To this end I advise you to first take your Curriulum Vitae or your resume, where all your knowledge and skills are shown. Highlight then in the 3 areas in which you develop yourself best. With this you will be able to see that you are a capable person with a lot to offer and that you have been successful in previous ventures.

If you haven't done anything else up to this point, just look a little further back to see all your skills and competencies. It could be your customer service skills, your computer skills or even your language skills.

After identifying those 3 primary areas in which you are proficient, try to narrow down other skills you have, even if you are not as proficient. Are you good at typing words? Are you empathetic when you talk to people? Do you know how to motivate other people? Add them to your range of strengths.

This whole exercise is for you to gain confidence in yourself, and always think of yourself as a competent person with a lot to contribute. Fear of being wrong cannot stop you. In case you make a mistake, look at it as an opportunity to improve and excel in areas in which you are not as prepared. In order for your clients, colleagues and associates to have confidence in you and your business, you must first have confidence in everything you do.
