Goals are those points that mark our short, medium and long term objectives. They are very useful to measure our results and to know in which aspects we should focus our efforts. Drawing clear and concise goals from the beginning of our business helps to share a vision within our company.

Below we will be providing you with a series of recommendations to elaborate your goals, taking into account the deadlines for each one.

Short-term goals

Short-term goals are those that mark the first visible advances in the development of our business. They should be relatively simple goals to achieve with the means and resources we have at our disposal. Our short-term goals have to be focused on launching our company and acquiring certain commercial and financial stability.

Among the most common examples of short-term goals for a newly launched company may be: Launching an improved version of the product, increasing production capacity or providing our services, improving sales, making certain business relationships or contacts, etc. Always try to set realistic goals, that way you will not get frustrated in the attempt and you will be able to measure the progress in a fair way.

Medium-term goals

Medium-term goals are an intermediate between short-term goals and long-term goals. In the realization of these goals, the main thing to keep in mind is to structure them so that they serve as a support for your long-term goals. The medium-term goals should ratify the results of the short-term ones and lead the company's vision towards more risky and idealistic goals.

If one of your long-term goals is to sell three times more products than you sell today, you may have to consider as a medium-term goal to increase the production of your products or open new stores to market them. In this way, you will create the basis that will allow you to start meeting your long-term goals in a realistic way.

Long-term goals

Long-term goals represent your vision of how you envision the long-term results of your business growth. Just because it's long-term doesn't mean you can set impossible or overly idealistic goals. You should not set goals such as being the company that sells the most of this product or being number one in the market.
