Transcription Be your own coach

Good morning! We have been exchanging a lot of information that we can start implementing. Each person will do it at their own pace, depending on their circumstances and experiences. Some may already be immersed in business and find this an additional stimulus, while others are just starting their journey in the business world.

We are training as professional business coaches, with the goal of guiding companies and their members to success, providing consulting and fostering healthier interpersonal relationships. However, as we move forward, a concern arises: how do we know if we are headed in the right direction? My role is to guide, but who is guiding me? How can I become my own coach?

How to be your own coach

Today, we all want to achieve our goals with greater efficiency and determination, making the road to success a palpable reality.

Being your own coach implies accepting the challenge of leading yourself and facing your own barriers, a process that requires re-education. This path awakens your intuition through self-knowledge and self-reflection, allowing you to manage your thoughts in all aspects of your life. Adopting this role will help you recognize your strengths instead of focusing on your limitations.

By immersing yourself in this process, you will realize the importance of establishing order and control in your daily habits and learning to manage your time. You have now become your own boss, so it is crucial that you demand of yourself what you need to get where you want to go; no one else will do it for you.

The coaching machinery

It is essential to understand that the coaching process is a matter of consistency. We are constantly handling information and exploring new ways of resolving conflicts, and during this long road to learning, the only limitation that exists is yourself. Before setting this "machinery" in motion, it is vital to make sure that it is in optimal conditions. I propose you to reflect on some aspects to work from an internal questioning, cultivating the concentration and balance necessary to strengthen your will and improve your emotional state. In other words, grease your internal machinery.

Your current emotional state

The first thing you should do is an internal review of your emotional situation. Identify which factors are driving you forward and which are holding you back. Generally, your emotional state influences your ability to develop. For example, if you receive good or bad news from family, friends or past businesses, it is crucial that you recognize how this can impact your motivation for entrepreneurship. Although you are not always responsible for your emotional state, you are responsible for how long you decide to stay in it.

Prioritize your goals

Prioritizing your goals is essential to your progress. You may have numerous goals in your business project or in your personal life, but by clearly defining your objectives, you will be able to organize yourself and focus on the most urgent ones. This will help you move forward with confidence and without rushing. It is also advisable to do a self-evaluation of your performance and the process after a certain time.

Analyze the difficulties

It is normal to feel fear of failure when the idea of entrepreneurship arises. Don't let the difficulties discourage you. Instead, recognize the challenges and look for effective solutions to your business needs. There will always be an answer if you remain calm and reflective. Adversities are opportunities to test your maturity and your ability to find other routes to your goals. The most important thing is to learn from each experience without stopping along the way.

Organize your time and actions

Being organized with your schedules and dates is key. Having a calendar with start and end dates for your tasks will facilitate your work and help you establish a balance between your professional and personal life.

In addition, it will allow you to meet your goals and advance your growth. You will be the owner of your time and, therefore, of your well-being. Maintaining this discipline can be complicated, but it is essential to respect the order you establish in your plans, since you are the boss, the company and the employee; you are your own coach.

Prepare a plan for times of crisis

Just as you make an optimistic plan, it is crucial to have an alternative plan to face crises, whether economic or emotional. It's not just about anticipating success; you also need to consider what to do if you fail or if an unexpected event occurs that is beyond your control. Being realistic means accepting that not everything will always work out and preparing for the unexpected.

Ask for help

Despite being cautious, we are not exempt from making mistakes. It is natural to know when we need help in areas where we do not have the necessary expertise. You can seek professional assistance from other coaches or lean on family and friends who can offer valuable advice based on their experiences. Remember that there is always something to learn from those around you; everyone can contribute something significant to your personal and professional growth.

Motivation is an essential factor in maintaining discipline. Being your own coach is not an easy task, but when you manage to maintain a conscious and disciplined state of mind in the face of the challenge you take on, it will be easier to help others on their own path to success.
