In this session, we will explore how our daily nutritional choices can transform our physical health and improve our quality of life.

Carbohydrates: The Fundamental Energy Source

Carbohydrates are the main source of energy for our bodies. They are broken down into glucose, which is used by our cells as fuel. However, not all carbohydrates are the same.

Simple carbohydrates, such as refined sugars, can cause energy spikes and crashes, while complex carbohydrates, present in whole grains, provide sustainable energy. By choosing whole grains over refined products, we can maintain stable energy levels and improve our physical endurance.

Protein: The Building Blocks of the Body

Proteins are fundamental to the growth, repair and maintenance of tissues in our bodies. They are the building blocks of muscles, enzymes and hormones.

By incorporating lean sources of protein, such as chicken, fish, legumes and nuts, we can promote muscle development, optimize metabolic function and improve satiety, which contributes to a healthy body weight.

Fats: Friend and Foe

Fats are essential for the absorption of certain vitamins and for brain health. However, not all fats are beneficial. Trans and saturated fats, found in processed and fried foods, can increase the risk of heart disease. Hydration: The Power of Water

Water is the most essential nutrient for the human body. It keeps our cells hydrated, aids in digestion, regulates body temperature and acts as a lubricant for joints.

Dehydration can lead to fatigue, headaches and reduced physical performance. Establishing proper hydration habits, such as drinking water regularly throughout the day and prioritizing water over sugary drinks, is essential to staying energized and healthy.
