Martin Seligman, the father of positive psychology, proposes the PERMA model for a flourishing life.

The ''P'' stands for Positive Emotions. It consists of cultivating emotions such as joy and gratitude.

E (Engagement): Commitment to the activities we do

The ''E'' stands for Engagement. It refers to the experience of ''flow'', being completely absorbed in an activity that we enjoy and that challenges us.

R (Relationships): The importance of positive personal relationships

The ''R'' stands for Relationships. Positive personal relationships are a pillar of well-being. We need to feel connected and supported.

M (Meaning) and A (Accomplishment): Meaning and Achievement

The ''M'' is for Meaning, belonging to something bigger than ourselves.

The ''A'' is for Accomplishment, the feeling of competence in achieving goals.

These five elements together build lasting well-being.
