Transcription Encouraging independence in household chores

Independence in household chores is a fundamental aspect to foster discipline and prayer in children.

The importance of these skills that we instill in them will accompany them throughout their lives and they can also teach them to their children. Although children do not have the obligation to perform household chores but we do, we can begin to encourage in them the independence of some that are involved in their daily lives and that enrich their learning. The way to get the message across to them in a pleasant and fun way is important for the correct assimilation of the help they can give us.

Making the bed and tidying up the bedroom

One of the tasks in which our children can help is to make their own bed. When they get up in the morning, we can teach them how to make the bed by playing games that are attractive to them. Imitating your actions is important because this is how we can set an example for them to learn. We can also ask our children for help to tidy up their room, we show them where to place things, toys, clothes, shoes and books so they know how to do it by themselves.

Watering the plants

A simple and very attractive task for children is watering the house plants. Children are very curious and when we teach them how to care for plants we also include watering them once a day. It can be attractive to help encourage this task in children to give them their own colorful and themed tools such as a small watering can, a planting spoon and a bucket. Once we make him aware of how much fun he can have, he will keep it high on his list of priorities.

Picking up toys

Children love to play and spread their creativity with the toys we provide. In order to achieve a sense of order in them, it is important to make them aware of the need to pick them up after playtime. To prevent them from getting lost around the house or broken, we teach them to return them to the place where they will be safe. It is necessary to place the toy drawer in a single place, so they will know that they will always find them there.
