In many ways, a life coach teaches his client that we all have within us the potential to succeed, transmitting a message of hope that seeks to empower the person who comes for help, showing that we all go through moments where decision making marks a before and after in our lives.
However, there are many and varied obstacles that must be faced by those who wish to achieve a better quality of life, and faced with the discomfort caused by the pressure of deciding what to do, many abandon the path of personal growth.
It is at this point in the process where the specialized help of a coach provides the client with the resources and strategies that allow them to face the fear, laziness and apathy that leaves the person without energy to move forward, and take action from the right decisions moving towards their goals in the most accurate way possible.
Beginning of the coaching work
When a life coach starts working sessions with a client, the first thing he does, from empathy, is to identify how is the person he is going to work with; he needs to know the main features that make up his identity, what are his values when relating to others and what this person wants for himself, knowing that all human beings, to a greater or lesser extent, have dreams they want to fulfill.
But no matter how experienced a coach is, the process of personal advancement will not take place if the client does not take responsibility for the change and has a strong sense of commitment to follow the guidance that the coach suggests, appropriating the different resources that this professional makes available and assuming that the inner strength that leads us to achieve our goals, is born within each one, and no one can do it for someone else.
An effective strategy
Many times professional coaching approaches the creation of strategies to work on demotivation in a client, starting by setting the goals that the person has in his or her life. However, new coaching programs propose to create the work strategy from the vision of achievement, as they assure that a good number of people have responded favorably to this method of work, where the client, having very clear what their priorities are, is emotionally supported by the image of what they want for their life.
The personal vision brings an inner strength that does not give space to limiting states such as apathy, which weakens those who are working to reach their goals.
This personalized strategy is created by the coach respecting the client's values, identity and priorities and is based on the client's personal mission, that is to say, from which place this person feels useful and contributes to the common good. While for some their personal mission is to teach, for others the personal mission is in scientific research, providing new discoveries.
