Transcription Excretory system

The following topic will be dedicated to the study of the excretory system of the human body, also known as the human urinary system. It is one of the most important systems in our body, its functions are vital for the maintenance of human life, since any existing affectation in this set of organs could trigger severe affectations for our health.

Our body wastes need to be eliminated, otherwise we would not be able to get rid of all those toxins and unusable compounds generated by our body through the performance of its metabolic functions.

Here are some basic aspects that you should know about this subject in relation to human health.

Definition

The organs of the human body that are responsible for the elimination of the waste produced by the metabolic reactions of our organism and that are presented as toxins through urine, are grouped in a system known as the human urinary system.

Within this group of organs, the kidneys play a fundamental role, since they are responsible for the formation of urine. This process occurs as a result of blood filtration, which is carried out by these organs using nephrons. In this way, the substances that are useful for the human body are obtained, while those that are not necessary are discarded through this filtering process.

Respiration

Breathing itself is a process that takes place in the respiratory system, however it is important to know that it plays a very necessary role in eliminating unwanted substances from our body. When we breathe, we access the entrance of oxygen to our lungs, in the same way as with the kidneys, an internal process is carried out in order to assimilate those components that can be useful to us, while we discard substances such as carbon dioxide.

Sweat

Sweat is one of the ways our body eliminates waste from the body. Through the sweat glands, and using our skin, we manage to get rid of toxic substances and excesses produced by the performance of certain metabolic functions.

Sweat has other very important functions. It is a natural way of regulating body temperature, as it cools the skin and thus compensates for high temperatures. It has been demonstrated that through sweat we manage to defend ourselves from bacteria that could be harmful to the body, this is because it acts as a kind of barrier that repels this type of microorganisms dangerous to our health, regardless of the fact that in the sweat many other benign bacteria can be housed.
