To ensure consistency in the pursuit of goals and the formation of habits, it is essential to create accountability systems.

These systems can be individual or involve other people, and their objective is to maintain commitment and motivation, especially in times of difficulty or when self-discipline falters.

The first level of accountability is to oneself. This implies an honest and regular monitoring of one's own time and actions against established objectives.

Tools such as spreadsheets to record the time spent on each task (start and end) allow you to analyze where your energy is going and whether you are being productive.

This record not only shows what has been done. It also discourages distractions, as you are aware that every change of activity must be noted.

At the end of the day, reviewing this log provides a sense of certainty about the work done and helps maintain focus.

The Accountability Buddy

Having an "accountability partner" is a very powerful strategy. This is a trusted person, ideally someone who is also working on their own goals or has gone through similar experiences, who helps keep us on track.
