Transcription Diseases related to aging

Aging is a natural process that cannot be avoided, we all experience it and suffer its consequences. As the years go by and old age becomes more acute, certain diseases begin to appear that threaten the quality of life we lead. That is why it is important that we maintain good health habits in our youth, because although it is true that old age will have to be faced sooner or later, the diseases related to it can be prevented or mitigated if we pay attention to our health at an early age.

During the development of this guide we will be addressing some of the basic elements that revolve around aging and the diseases that arise from this natural process.

Alzheimer's disease

Alzheimer's is a disease that is closely related to aging. It manifests itself as a kind of dementia, where the individual suffering from it suffers effects such as memory loss, behavioral disorders and impairment in rational thinking. Alzheimer's disease also has adverse effects such as difficulty in concentrating, disorientation, confusion and progressive degradation of cognitive abilities.

Motor diseases

Affections in the bones are also very common during aging, this is due to the decalcification of the same and the loss of the capacity and hardness of these. As a result of these diseases, several motor impairments arise, which considerably damage the movement capacity of the subject, thus degrading the quality of life of the same.

As an example of one of these diseases we have arthritis. This disease is related to joint inflammation. When the joints become inflamed, not only is the person's ability to move impaired, but he/she must also face numerous pains that cause stiffness, muscle and tendon affectations, among others.

Osteoporosis is another of the diseases found in this group. It is manifested by the gradual decrease in bone density of the subject. This leads to significantly more fragile bones, thus increasing the risk of fractures and serious injuries. One of the characteristics that makes osteoporosis an extremely dangerous disease is that it is not very easy to detect, since once the symptoms are evident it is because the disease has already developed to a certain degree.

Cardiovascular diseases

Cardiovascular diseases can occur at practically any age, but as in the previous cases, these types of diseases tend to appear more regularly as the years go by. These diseases include coronary artery disease, heart failure, heart valve disease and cardiac arrhythmia. These diseases can be caused by a variety of factors, including lifestyle, genetics and environmental factors.

Vision problems

Diseases affecting vision are also related to aging. These diseases include age-related macular degeneration, cataract and glaucoma. These diseases can cause vision loss, which can affect the quality of life of older people. There are various treatments to reverse the effects of these diseases, but as a general rule, vision is one of the senses that suffers the most as the years go by.

It is important to remember that aging is a natural process that cannot be avoided, but that our actions have an influence on accelerating or delaying it. There are many steps we can take to reach old age in a healthy way. These include exercising regularly, eating a healthy diet, limiting alcohol and tobacco consumption, and maintaining an appropriate weight. It is also important to have regular medical checkups to detect any age-related diseases early.
