Vitamins are one of the most necessary nutrients for human life, a large part of the performance of many of the most vital biological functions of our body depends on them, so that in the absence of one of these, a series of harmful consequences for our health are unleashed. Among the vitamins, there is a group of thirteen of them that are called essential, this is because without the presence of one of these, it would be impossible for our body to continue functioning normally.

What are the essential vitamins?

Thanks to these nutrients and their properties, we are able to protect our cells from possible damage caused by free radicals. Free radicals are a type of unstable molecule that originates from cell metabolism and causes damage to the structures of other molecules. Vitamin D: Vitamin D is essential for the strengthening and maintenance of our bone structure. This is because it is responsible for facilitating the absorption of calcium, an essential mineral for the development of our bones and teeth. Vitamin K: Vitamin K plays a fundamental role in our circulatory system. The effects of this nutrient allow the body to form clots that help stop bleeding more easily.

Vitamin B1: Vitamin B1 is essential for the health of organs such as the heart. It also has a great impact on our nervous system. Thanks to this nutrient, our body is able to break down food sugars more easily, while it improves the functioning of some enzymes. Vitamin B2: Vitamin B2 has several very necessary effects for our body. It actively participates in the conversion of food consumed into energy. Likewise, it works in favor of the normal functioning of the cellular structures of our body. Vitamin B3: Vitamin B3, like others of the vitamin B complex, works in our digestive and nervous system, while helping our enzymes to develop properly.
