The Opposite Side of Scarcity: Insatiable Wealth

At the opposite end of the survivalist mentality, we find the other side of the coin, which is known as the Babylonian mentality.

This way of thinking is inspired by ancient, opulent cities, where their inhabitants possessed spectacular financial capacity and had everything they desired.

However, despite this material abundance, people who live with this mentality are characterized by wanting to have more and more things.

It is a paradigm that, although born of wealth, shares with the Egyptian mentality a constant state of stress and deep unrest in life.

Although the reasons are completely different, both mentalities keep us in a place where we do not feel comfortable or at peace with our own existence.

The Eternal Cycle of Dissatisfaction

For those who operate under this paradigm, what They are trapped in an eternal cycle of wanting more and are never satisfied with the possessions or status they have already accumulated. The pursuit of more money, more property, and more recognition becomes the driving force of their existence, a race with no finish line in sight. This person is always in a state of despair because the immense amount of things they already have no longer seems to be enough. As a result of this perpetual dissatisfaction, they are constantly running around anxiously seeking and accumulating more, never finding a moment of rest. Fear as the Driving Force of Accumulation The real reason these people are never satisfied is because they live in a state of eternal fear that everything is going to end. They are constantly terrified that at any moment, without warning, they are going to lose absolutely everything they own. that they have worked so hard to achieve over the years.

This fear of total loss is the fuel that fuels their insatiable need to keep accumulating, mistakenly believing that more possessions will bring them more security.

Accumulation is not born out of enjoyment, but out of a deep anxiety about the future and the belief that only by having more can they protect themselves from catastrophe.

Perpetual Anxiety as a Lifestyle

As a direct consequence of this fundamental fear, people with a Babylonian mindset live in a state of anxiety that is absolutely perpetual, without a single respite.

Their lives are defined by a constant desire to want more, to need more, and to have more than everyone around them.

This constant comparison and competition keep them in a state of permanent stress, as the race to accumulate is one that is never actually won.

In the end, this mindset, like the Egyptian one, leads us to a place of unrest, where peace and harmony are impossible to achieve.
