Help our customer get to know yourself - coaching sales

Knowing oneself is more complex than it seems. Self-criticism and the ability to perceive oneself without factors that distort reality are rare skills. Often, we need the help of others to understand what characterizes us and what our potential is.

For a coach, it is essential that clients learn to know themselves, as this facilitates their personal development and optimizes the results to be achieved through coaching sessions.

In this guide, we will address the importance of helping our clients to know themselves, in order to facilitate their personal development process.

Why is it important that the client learns to know him/herself?

Many of the problems that the coach faces with his client originate in problems of perception. The client is often unable to identify his innate strengths that allow him to face complex situations more easily. We all have strengths and weaknesses in our personality.

Some people are more sociable, while others have the ability to learn certain skills. Whatever the person, we all have valuable skills that we can enhance to use to our advantage. If we cannot identify our strengths, we will not be able to enhance them, and our weaknesses will prevail.

The coach can see what the client does not see

People around us often notice aspects of our personality that we ourselves do not see. This happens because we are used to being who we are, so we are not surprised by our abilities. The coach, as an outside observer, can identify those distinctive elements in his client and help him to recognize them, guiding his behavior towards the development of those innate abilities.

Often we spend more effort on acquiring new skills, when the first task should be to enhance the ones we already have.

Help the client identify his or her weaknesses

The process of self-knowledge involves not only identifying strengths, but also weaknesses. By knowing our weaknesses, we are less likely to be negatively affected by them. Personal development involves strengthening our capabilities and shielding our weaknesses.

Help your client to know themselves from their strengths and weaknesses, encouraging self-criticism and the desire for self-improvement. Coaching sessions provide the necessary space to work on these aspects with the active and conscious participation of the client.
