Self actualization - life coaching
Self-realization is the greatest emotional state an individual can achieve. Feelings of joy and peace of mind often come from the things we have achieved, that satisfy us and make us proud. Self-realization by itself cannot be generalized for all people, since this state of well-being is dependent on the desires, aspirations, goals and values of each person.
Self-realization is a very complex process to which we must dedicate our entire life. Moving towards self-actualization requires having clear goals and objectives, as well as a high degree of self-knowledge of our emotions, values and desires.
In this guide, we will explore fundamental concepts related to self-actualization and strategies to achieve it.
Material goals are those that we can perceive through our senses. They are usually related to financial satisfaction, job security, happiness and success in our daily lives. Material goals, contrary to what we believe, are the easiest to achieve, since they are usually satisfied once a certain economic balance is reached, which translates into freedom to act and satisfy our desires.
It is important to clarify that goals are not immovable or static. Once they are achieved, new goals usually appear, this time more ambitious. If we do not have goals, we lack purpose in our lives, and therefore, we continually reinvent ourselves and new desires arise that motivate us to continue working. It is enough to analyze the business development of many of the world's great personalities and entrepreneurs, who, once they become millionaires and successful, do not stop working, but get involved in bigger and more ambitious projects.
Emotionally, goals can be more challenging to achieve than material ones. These relate to the feeling of emotional and spiritual well-being, which is only achieved when there is a certain correlation between the life we are living and our values and principles. Each person's values and principles respond to their worldview of the world, what we judge as right or wrong, moral or immoral. We can feel good about our material goals, but be emotionally dissatisfied with the way we have achieved things, the values we have broken and the emotional instability this generates.
Having said all of the above, the easiest path to self-realization lies in knowing how to align our emotional and material goals. From the moment you conceive the creation of a business, you must evaluate if this business responds to your values and principles, and if the results you seek to achieve will make you feel good about yourself. All great companies have values that identify them, act in pursuit of the defense of those values and do not deviate from a business line that identifies with what they defend.
Entrepreneurship is solving a market problem, and if solving that problem is something that will make you feel better about yourself, you will be closer to achieving both objectives: being a financially stable person, with your material goals satisfied, and at the same time fulfilling your emotional goals.
We believe that emotional goals can be more important than material goals. The greatest satisfaction a human being can feel is to be identified with his or her actions and values. When we betray our principles, successes are tarnished because we know that, in some way, we have betrayed ourselves to satisfy our material ambitions. This does not mean that material goals are not important, only that they must respond to your belief system and the morals you uphold.
