Test You are not always right
Agenda
QUESTION 1: WHY SHOULD WE NOT IMPOSE OUR CRITERIA IN A CONVERSATION?
Our opinion on certain topics that we share with other people often seems arrogant because we are not always right
We come to assume that we have mastered a lot of information regarding, psychology, sociology, business, entrepreneurship and many others where we set out to teach from a position superior to others
We must be very perceptive so as not to impose our judgment on others and change the course of a conversation by making it unpleasant
Everyone wants to be heard, everyone wants to express that version of how we understand the world
QUESTION 2: WHY RECOGNIZE WHEN WE ARE WRONG?
As a coach we have a wealth of important information to guide our clients and we make the mistake of believing that we are superior
To think of oneself as superior to a customer is the first mistake of those who do not know how to deal with people
In most cases we cannot recognize when we are wrong in some matter because we understand as truth what we know and ignore other valid points of view
It is important to learn to recognize the judgment of others because it is one of the first ways to show respect to our fellow men
QUESTION 3: WHAT BENEFIT DO WE OBTAIN WHEN WE ACT WITH HUMILITY?
One of the indispensable elements as a person to advance in the path of knowledge and socialization is humility
It is advantageous for us and others that we consider instilling values in our environment and this is one of them
We will never get to know a topic of conversation in its entirety
We are constantly growing and learning, so when we act with humility we give ourselves the opportunity to understand how much we have yet to learn
QUESTION 4: WHAT IS THE MAIN VALUE WE MUST KEEP IN MIND IN ORDER TO COEXIST?
Each person has a way of thinking matured through knowledge and experiences, as well as cultural or inherited beliefs that make up a large part of his or her identity
Certainly the main value that we must always keep in mind in order to coexist in peace and harmony is respect
When we respect the feelings, beliefs, ideas or knowledge of others, it does not always mean that we agree, but that we understand and accept individuality as a right
For coaching where we first show respect to a client is when we listen to them, because we guide them during their change process but we are not the ones who make them change
QUESTION 5: HOW CAN HEALTHY COMMUNICATION BE ESTABLISHED?
Communication has a bidirectional character, the response that builds the dialogue is also needed
The way to establish a healthy communication is through an equal exchange where there are no superiorities or inferiorities between the communicators
We are sometimes vainly determined to feel that we are right in a debate or exchange, but by observing from a certain distance we can use communication to enrich our learning process
Imagine how it would feel when another person just tries to impose his or her judgment over that of others
QUESTION 6: HOW DOES NEGATIVE CRITICISM BENEFIT US?
Many of us reject criticism of our actions by completely avoiding any trace that proves us wrong when we say something
Criticism is a necessary element to know where we are heading
We experience two directions of criticism, when it is positive towards us or when it is negative
When we are faced with negative criticism and we know how to take advantage of it, it clearly shows us what aspects we need to modify, what we need to change
