Transcription To be competent
As we go through life, we develop in our work in search of a growth that gives us satisfaction. To act requires disposition, and within our field we seek to be competent. What is it to be competent and how do we know when we are competent? Being competent is a concept that defines us before our environment as to whether we can perform our job properly or not. When a company is looking for a new work team, it does not only select those who know how to do what is needed, but also those who are the most competent. Let's get into the particularities of this concept to know how much it can contribute to you as a Business Coach.
What does it mean to be competent?
To be competent means to demonstrate your ability to master your area of work. It means to correctly apply your knowledge in order to effectively solve the challenge in front of you. Being competent also requires putting our skills into practice in order to achieve our goal. Competence implies having an aptitude for the job so that we can assume it with dedication and responsibility. An important factor to be competent is the development of receptivity and capacity to learn knowledge.
Applying knowledge.
In some way our scope of action, mainly at work, requires to have enough knowledge to be able to perform. For example our own business coaching course; nobody is born knowing everything; to become a knowledgeable coach you need experience, and experience is only acquired over time, over the years, with the difficulties of every day. Knowledge is something that we can become aware of once we have overcome or not the challenges or barriers that appear along the way, with this I mean that the error also produces knowledge; a person who recognizes when he makes mistakes can be more aware of what he learns than when we obtain achievements and victories without setbacks. On the other hand if you want to apply for a job for which you have no education or experience then you are not right for the job, even if you are a competent person.
Interpersonal skills.
One thing complements the other, interpersonal skills can be obtained through experience in a given area. These interpersonal skills, also known as soft skills, include communication, creative thinking, teamwork, time management, professional ethics, adaptability, reliability, among others. Having interpersonal skills allows us to be more capable of generating a favorable work environment with good energy and influences a positive environment where we are flexible to identify problems and solve our work with more professionalism. When we possess these personal skills we are more likely to be selected for a team that is interested in our knowledge. The most important thing about these skills is that they are transferable, as they are yours you can put them into practice in any type of work you develop and become more efficient and competent in the world of work.
Aptitude.
The aptitude to work is something that moves everything. Aptitude is a capacity that we can have to learn some kind of knowledge and it manifests itself as a disposition to be receptive. It is mysteriously related to motivation and the need to resolve our most urgent goals as a person. When we face daily life with aptitude we are charging our will with intention; so if we set out to show aptitude it is easier to be able to face situations. In this case, aptitude allows you to be more capable and therefore more competent for the work you do.
Effort.
As we know there are always difficulties in our way and more in the work environment, in fact the difficulties are necessary to test our capacity of effort. Having a culture of effort has an important influence on our self-esteem. Naturally when we overcome an obstacle it elevates our emotion and self-esteem, because we strive to keep us in the line of events. But when we cannot overcome them, we get depressed because it feels like a defeat. When we keep in mind that our results depend on our effort, we are more aware of how much it represents for us and for the business. For this it is important to maintain a discipline and demand that depends on our own self-motivation in order to eventually become responsible and competent people.
Ethics.
This is an aspect of utmost relevance and since we are in the professional training of Business Coach comes like a glove. Ethics is one of the most important values for any worker and the most requested by employers. This value that attributes integrity to our personality allows the people with whom we interact to place their trust in our actions and words. Ethics summarizes personal and universal values of the human being that also play an essential role in the workplace.
To show us as a competent person, work or personal ethics brings together a series of rules such as responsibility, confidentiality with information or social conduct standards.
Adaptability to change.
For a competent person the adaptability to change must be a matter to master because the work environment sometimes undergoes internal transformations as ways of operating and the worker must adapt to continue doing his job efficiently. Generally these adaptations are made to improve working conditions, but we must be prepared to show that we are competent even in difficult conditions. When our company interacts with clients we must be clear that the structures or habits of proceeding suffer transformations acc
