Transcription Beliefs

During the development of this guide we will be addressing one of the most important topics for the personal development of any entrepreneur, we are talking about beliefs. Beliefs are part of our thought system. We prejudge and believe we have a basic knowledge about everything we perceive, in this way we create unfounded criteria, motivated by our emotional side. When we act in this way we are not rational and we allow our emotions to make decisions for us, that is why it is extremely important to know how to get rid of everything that we have preconceived but is not supported by empirical and scientific evidence.

Below we will discuss some of the most important aspects that you should take into account if you want to get rid of your beliefs and face new challenges with a positive mindset.

Why should we shed our beliefs?

The fundamental reason why we should get rid of our beliefs is because they do not have a rational basis, that is, they are nothing more than a perception based on our emotions. Beliefs are not always in the realm of denial, while one belief could be that we are not competent to carry out our business, another belief could be that we are competent.

In any of the two cases these beliefs are harmful, because being or not competent to carry out our business does not depend on what we believe, but on the concrete and measurable facts, which in these cases would be our results and the degree of preparation that we have.

Differences between beliefs and facts

As we said before, beliefs are our perception based on emotions, while facts are concrete and measurable phenomena. "I think I know English" would be a belief, but "I passed the English test" is a concrete and measurable fact. If we are guided by our belief system, we will be constantly making decisions without a scientific basis, which can lead us to err or be biased when facing our problems.

Facts, on the other hand, help us to know ourselves accurately, to know what our faults and deficiencies are. It is common that when we argue with someone or when adversities happen to us during the day, we start to act under emotion, blaming others and justifying our actions. If you take the time to analyze the facts, how they happened, the actions or words you used, etc., your analysis will be much more accurate and therefore your judgment will be fairer.

Is getting rid of your beliefs the same as not thinking positively?

The fact of divesting ourselves of our beliefs does not imply that we do not think positively, they are two completely different phenomena. To think positive is to fac
