Transcription Demonstrate Additional Skills

Beyond meeting the technical requirements of the position, demonstrating valuable complementary skills can significantly differentiate you from other candidates.

Two key areas employers often look for are proactivity in learning (especially technological) and the ability to work in a team and lead.

Use the interview to highlight examples that illustrate these competencies.

Proactivity in learning and technological adaptation

In an ever-changing world of work, the ability to learn autonomously and adapt to new technologies is highly valued.

Employers are looking for people who don't need constant supervision to learn and who embrace technology rather than resist it.

How to demonstrate: Look for opportunities to mention examples of how you have learned new skills on your own, especially if they involve technology.

Did you learn a new language using an app? Did you create a website or YouTube channel for a hobby, learning video editing or programming in the process? Did you take online courses to update your skills?

Mentioning these initiatives shows that you are a "self-learner" and that you keep up to date, qualities that are very attractive to any organization.

Never say you are "not a technology person" as this is interpreted as laziness or resistance to change.

Teamwork and leadership (Even with non-work examples).

The ability to collaborate effectively with others is essential in most work environments.

Employers look for people who can integrate into teams, communicate well and, if necessary, take initiative or lead.

How to demonstrate: Prepare concrete examples (using STAR) where you have worked successfully as part of a team.

Ideally, include situations where you took an informal leadership role, organizing or motivating others toward a common goal, even without having formal authority over them.

Non-work examples: If your direct work experience does not offer many examples of teamwork or leadership, feel free to turn to other areas of your life.

Did you participate in or organize activities in college (clubs, sports teams), lead or collaborate in volunt
