Transcription Immediate Self-Assessment and Reflection
Once the interview is over and you are off the premises, it is very useful to take a few moments to reflect on your performance.
This immediate self-evaluation, while the experience is fresh, will allow you to learn and improve for future interviews.
What did you do well, what could you improve for next time?
Conduct an honest review of how you did. Ask yourself:
- Did I answer the questions clearly and confidently?
- Did I manage to communicate my strengths and value proposition?
- Did I establish a good rapport with the interviewer?
- What questions did I struggle with the most?
- Was there anything I forgot to mention or could have explained better? Identifying both positive aspects and areas for improvement will help you adjust your preparation for the next time.
Use a checklist to guide reflection.
To facilitate this self-assessment, you can use a checklist.
Prepare a list beforehand with the key points you want to evaluate (e.g. punctuality, clarity of pitch, response to difficult questions, body language, questions asked at the end, etc.).
After the interview, go through the list and check off how you think you performed on each point. This will give you a structured view of your performance.
