One of our main concepts to achieve a healthy interaction with our context is respect and knowing that in each culture there are different ways of thinking makes us stay out of the way. We need to keep in mind that the cultures of other countries harbor certain freedoms and limits to which we must adapt in order to work efficiently and establish lasting bonds.
Research.
Research in our field is fundamental, since in our century information is power. The way to be able to adapt our coaching sessions would be to know how they would work in a country with different characteristics from the one we are trained in. How do the laws work in another territory? Having the knowledge of how far we can go in a certain culture can save us from misunderstandings with our clients.
Economic market.
The type of currency in which our customers can pay is important for our economy; each country has its own currency and establishing an exchange rate can represent profit or loss for our business. Generally there are currencies that strongly dominate the economic market such as the Euro, the Dollar or the Pound Sterling, so that it does not represent a limiting factor it is necessary to know with what type of currency our client can pay according to the country where he lives. Although it is notable that the economic market does not behave in the same way in all the countries of the world, we can determine which currencies to accept and which not to accept, as well as the form of payment, depending on the country of the client.
Personal liability insurance.
When we are going to implement courses, workshops or group training in which it is necessary to be present in a country, we can rely on personal liability insurance that covers us in case of damage to third parties or claims from customers for receiving erroneous information. A client can take a professional to court for the fact of bad advice regarding his business or personal development. Of course, the legality of these claims may vary depending on the laws of each country where we are located. We as a coach do not focus our practice on giving advice to clients, but rather on asking pertinent questions that provoke the client to answer his or her own question. Insurance is important in case of business trips to free us from having an unpleasant moment and avoid greater evils.
The meeting environment.
If we are giving our Coaching session in a country we do not know, it is important to consider the meeting environment, because it also conditions. Surely to exchange some topics with clients you need some privacy or confidentiality in terms of business and a park or a shopping mall is not the right place to give a coaching session, therefore, it is necessary to choose a meeting room for our conferences or a VIP room of a hotel where this site can also be responsible for our personal safety and that of the clients.
