Transcription Reduce sugar

High levels of sugar or glucose in the blood is one of the most common causes of the appearance of various deadly diseases. Poor eating habits, accompanied by a sedentary lifestyle, commonly cause us to ingest higher levels of sugar than our body needs, which translates into it being the cause of an excess accumulation of fat, associated with a caloric surplus.

Many of us already fall into the category of pre-diabetics without knowing it, the high consumption of refined carbohydrates and extremely high sugar beverages causes us to develop over time a certain insulin resistance and it becomes increasingly difficult to maintain a healthy blood glucose level.

Considering the importance of this issue for our health, we will dedicate the following guide to address some practical tips that you can carry out to lower the level of sugar in your body naturally.

Decrease your carbohydrate intake

Carbohydrates are of vital importance for human nutrition, as they are a rich source of energy by providing us with high levels of glucose that will be integrated into our cells. The conflict with carbohydrates and the increase in blood sugar arises when we abuse the consumption of these, as we always say the basis of all healthy eating is in the balance of nutrients.

If you know that your glucose levels are high, try a low carbohydrate diet for a prolonged period of time, in many occasions this will be enough to restore blood glucose levels to a healthy range. If you don't know your blood glucose level, you can request a lab test or do it yourself with the help of a glucometer.

Reduce stress

Although it may seem like a myth to many people, stress does increase blood glucose levels. If you wonder how this is possible, if you are not ingesting any food, we tell you that our body works as a very complex machinery, which is prepared to face situations that we are not able to imagine.

When our brain detects increased stress in your body, some hormones such as adrenaline, send the signal to the glucose reservoir organs to dispense this in your body so you can get extra energy to help you fight the situation that is stressing you. The problem with this is that usually the most common situations that cause us stress, do not require more energy to deal with it, but a little self-control and changes in our lifestyle.

Poor sleep, personal and work problems, toxic friendships, among others, are very common sources of stress.

Exercise

Exercise is the easiest and healthiest way to lower blood glucose levels. Without counting the innumerable benefits of maintaining an active life, it is valid to point out that our muscles need glucose to exercise, in this way they obtain energy to perform their contractions. Starting with small changes in your daily routines is more than enough to start noticing the benefits.

For weight loss, it is best to perform cardio exercises, such as jogging, walking, cycling, swimming, dancing, among many others. Strength exercises, such as weight lifting, are very useful when it comes to increasing our muscle mass. In any case, both will be very useful to control that glucose surplus you may be having.
