Transcription Strategies to strengthen self-esteem

Raising self-esteem is a process that involves cultivating a healthier and more positive relationship with oneself.

There are a number of practical strategies, many of them based on common sense but often overlooked, that can contribute significantly to building a stronger and more resilient self-worth.

Unconditional Acceptance of Self

Learning to accept oneself as one is, with virtues and defects, is a fundamental requirement for positive change and the strengthening of self-esteem. This does not mean conformism.

But an honest recognition of one's own individuality. While there are harmful behaviors that need to be corrected (such as aggressiveness or addictions), self-acceptance refers to the essence of the person.

Release of the Burden of Blame

Excessive guilt and self-reproach are very destructive feelings for self-esteem.

Freeing oneself from unnecessary guilt, understanding that mistakes are part of learning and do not define one's value as a person, is a crucial step.

It involves letting go of the "quarrel with oneself" and the inner anger that often accompanies guilt.

Fostering Positive Internal Dialogue

The internal dialogue, that constant conversation we have with ourselves, has a direct impact on self-esteem.

It is important to cultivate a kind and constructive internal dialogue, speaking to oneself with respect and appreciation.

Instead of focusing on flaws when looking in the mirror, one can choose to recognize one's own beauty or positive qualities.

Assumption of Personal Responsibility

People with healthy self-esteem tend to live life actively, not passively, and take responsibility for their actions and decisions.
