Transcription Nonverbal Intelligence Test (INV)
Forms A and B and Scope of Application
The Nonverbal Intelligence Test evaluates abstract reasoning and spatial problem solving.
There are two formats: Form A, intended for people with university or higher education (high school graduates and above), and Form B, which, although used for people with a lower educational level (primary school), is sufficiently complex to be applied to higher levels as well.
Unlike the Raven, its application is not recommended for children, being more useful in adolescents (from 12 years of age) and adults, especially in work and educational contexts.
Task and Method of Interpretation
The test consists of identifying which figure breaks the logic of a series or graphic sequence, composed of 48 Form B items.
The application time is around 40 to 50 minutes. For the correction, the correct answers are counted using a template.
The direct score (total hits) is converted into a percentile using the corresponding scale; for example, 34 hits could correspond to a 60th percentile, indicating average intelligence.
Summary
The INV assesses abstract reasoning and spatial resolution using two formats: Form A for university level and Form B for the general population. It is preferably administered to adolescents and adults, not children.
