Objectives and Application in Selection

The Valanti Test is a tool designed to eva luate a person's value priorities, determining which values he/she prefers and which he/she rejects (anti-values).

Its application is especially relevant in personnel selection processes for positions that require a high degree of integrity, ethics and trust, such as positions in finance, hiring, inventory or warehouse, where there are risks of fraudulent behavior.

Although the manual suggests a minimum schooling of eighth grade, in actual practice it can be applied to people with sixth grade of basic education, and is suitable for adolescents from the age of 12 and adults.

Structure and Forced Response System

The questionnaire consists of 30 items divided into two sections. The first part (items 1-9) eva luates what the person considers most important in his/her life, facing two statements (e.g. "show dedication" vs. "act with perseverance").

The second part (items 10-30) eva luates what is most unacceptable or "non-negotiable" for the subject (anti-values).

The response system is a forced-choice system: the subject must distribute 3 points between two options (3-0, 0-3, 2-1, or 1-2), forcing a hierarchical ranking and avoiding neutral responses or those of easy social desirability.

The automated correction generates a star-shaped profile that measures five ethical dimensions: Truth, Righteousness, Peace, Love and Nonviolence.
