Transcription Advanced 12 Seasons System

Limitations of the classical system and the flow theory

The original 4 seasons model was sometimes insufficient to classify the entire population.

Many people did not fit the pure archetypes; for example, someone could have cold characteristics but not be able to withstand the intensity of Winter or the excessive pallor of Summer.

To address this, the 12 Seasons System was developed, based on Munsell's color theory.

This approach states that personal color has three dimensions: Temperature (Cool/Warm), Value (Light/Dark) and Saturation or Chroma (Bright/Soft).

In this advanced system, a dominant and a secondary characteristic are identified.

It is no longer enough to be "Autumn"; we now determine whether it is warmth (Autumn True), depth (Autumn Dark) or softness (Autumn Soft) that predominates.

The concept of "flow" explains that neighboring seasons on the chromatic circle share characteristics.

For example, a Dark Autumn "flows" into a Dark Winter; both share the dominant characteristic "Dark".

This means that a Dark Autumn can borrow certain colors from the winter palette (such as black or wine red), as long as they maintain a certain warmth, thus expanding the range of options for the customer.

Detailed classification of substations

By breaking down the main seasons, we obtain highly accurate groupings. In the cold spectrum, Winter is divided into: Bright Winter (flows into Spring, high contrast, light and bright eyes), True Winter (absolute cold, classic contrast Snow White) and Dark Winter (flows into Autumn, deep skins and eyes, supports neutral-dark tones).

Summer includes: Light Summer (flows into Spring, very blonde and delicate), True Summer (the cool and soft essence) and Soft Summer (flows into Autumn, more neutral and complex look, supports less pastel colors).

In the warm spectrum, Spring is classified into: Clear Spring (flows into Summer, ethereal and luminous), True Spring (warm and golden absolute) and Bright Spring (flows into Winter, possesses atypical high contrast, often with intense blue eyes and dark hair).

Finally, Autumn is divided into: Soft Autumn (flows into Summer, the most neutral and gritty of Autumns), True Autumn (warm and rich, classic red hair) and Dark Autumn (flows into Winter, intense and deep).

This level of detail allows for extreme customization of the image strategy.

Summary

The classic four-season system was insufficient to classify all human diversity. The advanced twelve-season model incorporates Munsell's theory: Temperature, Value and Saturation.

Flow theory is introduced, where neighboring stations share dominant characteristics. This allows a substation to borrow certain colors from its neighbor, expanding the range of chromatic options.

Each main station is broken down into three specific subgroups according to its predominant characteristic. This detailed classification, which includes soft, bright, light or dark variants, allows for extreme customization of the strategy.
