Transcription Study habits

The human being, in his interrelation with the environment that surrounds him, is a species of habits. Habits are nothing more than those behaviors repeated in a systemic way, which are unconsciously incorporated as an automated routine, which, as a routine in the end, will offer little resistance to the individual who seeks to follow it.

Obviously there are positive habits and negative habits. A negative habit can be the consumption of tobacco, whose repeated use is the cause of numerous fatal diseases. In reference to study, habits have an incalculable value, when we find routines that enhance the effectiveness of our learning hours, and we incorporate them in our study periods, it is possible to obtain better results with a lower expenditure of effort.

With this in mind, we propose the following topic, where we will introduce you to some study habits that can be useful to improve your learning time. Of course, there are many others besides the ones we will mention, the important thing is that you understand the logic of the benefits you will get by incorporating small habits every day.

Create your weekly study plan

A very effective habit can be to organize your study week, making use of an agenda or any electronic device that provides this possibility, organize the tasks you have pending according to their degree of urgency and difficulty.

Distributing your pending activities throughout the week will allow you to appreciate more easily the real load of tasks you have to complete, you can draw strategies, and regulate the intensity of each of your days to your liking.

You should take a day to organize these aspects, each week that passes, the habit will be strengthened, so you won't even need to think about it when you have been doing it routinely for a while.

Correct sleep habit

Sleep is one of the most painful aspects for any student, and late nights are a very common event in student life. What usually happens is that we instill in ourselves the false belief that by doing this we are making better use of our time, when in reality, the next day our productivity level drops considerably, our cognitive abilities are diminished, and we affect our health significantly.

We have to adapt ourselves to sustain our student days at the times when we should, without sacrificing our hours of rest, since the consequences of falling into these bad habits are very harmful, both for our health and for our studies.

Try to rest approximately a minimum of 7 to 8 hours a day. Keep in mind that the hours of night rest are irrecoverable, so it is better to postpone pending activities for the morning of the following day, than to sacrifice the night. It is better to go to bed on time, and you will be able to recover the time by getting up earlier.

Isolate yourself from the environment

You probably remember sitting down to study and being constantly interrupted. It's normal that during active hours, the environment around you insists on interacting with you. Distractions, events that may catch your attention, news, and banal events will take up much of your study time if you are not able to control it.

Before you start studying you should condition your space to prevent outside elements from reaching you easily. It is like incorporating a filter that makes that only what is really important can reach you. To do this, you can take measures such as; let people know what you are studying and that you only want to be disturbed if something urgent happens, stay away from distractions such as cell phones or televisions, and postpone any calls until after you have finished your studies.

These are just a few examples of small habits that will improve the quality of your studies. There are many others that will easily complement each other, and you can incorporate them in order to get better results.
