Transcription The PPD method
The ppd method or daily planning steps as it is also known, is a methodology created with the objective of facing the daily tasks from an organized strategy in different points that follow each other until the pending work is finished. This method is useful at times when we have a high load of pending work, it helps the student to focus on a goal, providing a planned option to execute it.
Discipline is a very important element in self-study, once the student finds himself before a regime where he does not feel controlled by a teacher and a class schedule, it may be more difficult to cope with the tasks to be performed. That is why this method is thought of as a logical way of organizing a whole sequence of actions that seek a satisfactory final result. In any case it does not mean that there are not many other ways to organize our study routines, it is only intended to be one more tool that the student can count on.
Next we will go into each of these steps to know what they consist of. This topic can be useful in your daily work as an efficient mechanism to solve your homework.
Create a list of all tasks
The most effective way to face a problem is to define it, you have to be clear about the tasks you have to perform during the day. The idea of all planning is to have a clear and concise strategy that begins by defining the objectives for today.
We recommend using a physical or electronic agenda that allows you to write down each of the tasks you will perform during the day. It is not advisable to rely on your memory, since it can fail and leave you in a problematic situation.
Order the tasks
Once you have well defined each of the tasks you will perform during the day, you should proceed to arrange them in order of priority. It is understood that all of them must be done on the same day, since they are in the planning you have done previously, but as a preventive method you should give more importance to those that will bring worse consequences in case they are not completed.
In the same agenda, use markers or any signaling of your preference to assign an order of completion for your tasks.
Have everything you need at hand
In order to save time and avoid unnecessary distractions, before you start working on the first task, make sure you have everything you need to complete it. This ranges from the information you will use (bibliography, notes, etc.) to more trivial things like having a bottle of water within reach to avoid having to stop for water. Think about everything that might cause you to have to interrupt the task you are about to perform and try to eliminate it beforehand.
Plan your study time
To complement these tasks you should project an estimated time it will take you to complete them. This is important because it means that you will have to demand more from yourself in order to complete them in the projected time. At the same time, having a previously defined study time implies that you should not violate it, in case you want to rest or get distracted, always try to be outside the agreed time. This is a step that requires discipline and willpower, since it is normal that when you find yourself facing a tedious task you want to change your activity, but this will only cause you to procrastinate in your responsibilities.
