Each item should be selected for its ability to focus your mind on the present and uplift your mood.

Next, we'll explore specific ideas for each of the senses, helping you build your personal treasure chest.

The Sense of Touch. Distraction and Relaxation for Your Hands

It is highly recommended that you include something in your box that you can touch and that serves as a good distraction for your hands.

You can use objects such as modeling clay, which is very satisfying to manipulate, or stress cubes and soft balls.

These tactile objects not only serve to distract you, but they can also actively encourage relaxation of your muscles.

The Sense of Sight. Reminders of Strength and Joy

You may want to include photographs of people or places that evoke positive memories and make you smile.

These images remind you that there is much more to your life than the anxious moment you are currently experiencing.

It is also a great idea to keep certificates or reminders of your successes to recognize your accomplishments and abilities.

Consider adding letters or postcards from friends and family that remind you of your good qualities and their appreciation for you.
