Transcription Creative Negotiation

Creative negotiation is a process that goes beyond simply discussing the price of something.

It is about finding solutions that satisfy both parties, which often involves thinking outside the box and considering non-monetary elements.

In a negotiation, the goal is to find common ground that allows everyone to feel satisfied with the agreement, rather than an agreement where one party feels they have lost.

Creativity as a key to consensus

In negotiations, creativity can be the key to reaching consensus, as we often focus on price, but there may be other elements that can be negotiated.

For example, in a salary negotiation, if a raise is not possible, other options can be pursued, such as more flexible work hours, the ability to work remotely, or additional benefits.

The key is to be flexible and open to solutions that meet the needs of both parties.

For example, a car dealer may offer a model with fewer features to reduce the price and make it more accessible to the buyer.

In the workplace, an employee may negotiate a four-day-a-week schedule in lieu of a pay raise, giving him or her a higher quality of life at a lower cost to the company.

In this sense, negotiation becomes a cooperative process, where both parties come together to solve a problem, rather than fighting each other for a personal victory.

In the end, creative negotiation not only helps us get what we want, but also strengthens the relationship, as both parties feel valued an
