Transcription Continuous Evaluation: Session by Session Follow-up
Evaluation as an Iterative Process
As previously explained, eva luation in coaching is not limited to a final phase; there is also continuous eva luation, which is not a separate stage, but a transversal modality of follow-up. Its main function is to monitor the process throughout its course.
This makes it possible to dynamically adapt it to any necessary modifications, based on the actual progress of the coachee and any challenges that arise.
This form of eva luation ensures that the coaching remains relevant and effective at all times.
Session Start: Progress Review
Ideally, each coaching session should begin with an assessment of the progress made by the coachee since the previous session.
This initial check-in serves to connect the work between sessions and ensure continuity.
During this review, some of the following key issues should be included and explored:
- How has the coachee transferred the techniques or learning from the previous session to his or her day-to-day life?
- What obstacles has he/she encountered in the implementation?
- What specific benefits have the actions taken brought him/her?
- What specific achievements did he/she obtain?
- What habitual behavior or self-limiting beliefs has the coachee become aware of?
- How has this new awareness (or the actions taken) affected his or her subsequent actions?
- What issues do you feel you will need to explore further?
- Does the coachee need more guidance in certain areas?
- Does the coachee need more support and encouragement in certain areas?
Phases of Ongoing In-Session Evaluation
This process of continuous assessment within each session usually follows three main phases:
- Coachee Self-Assessment: The client is invited to assess his or her own effectiveness, reflecting on his or her strengths, challenges and achievements since the last session.
- Coach Feedback: The coach provides insight and guidance, based on the client's self-assessment and his or her own observations, offering recognition and pointing out areas for improvement.
- Planning the Next Session: Based on the assessment, the current session is guided to make further progress toward the overall objectives, adjusting the focus if necessary.
Focus on Weaknesses and Strengths.
The main objective of the continuous eva luation is not so much to determine the final results (that will be done at the conclusion), but to identify weaknesses that appear along the way.
It is precisely through the errors or difficulties that it is possible to find the barriers that the person must overcom
