Transcription Goal Setting (Models)

The Deadly Sins of Goal Setting

Failure to achieve goals is often due to fundamental errors or "deadly sins".

The first is not writing down goals, which leaves them as mere abstract desires without neurological commitment.

The second is not having clear motives; without a powerful "why," motivation fades in the face of difficulty.

The third is to create unrealistic or unattainable goals in ridiculous time frames, which guarantees frustration.

Finally, the most serious mistake is not acting, having a perfect plan but not executing the first step.

The Express Goal Model

To simplify planning and avoid paralysis by analysis, the "Express Model" is proposed.

It consists of three straightforward questions: 1) What do you want (specific definition of the goal without using negations).

2) Why do you want it (connection with the fundamental value or internal need).

3) What is the first step you can take today? This structure reduces the goal to an immediate and manageable action, breaking the initial inertia.

Four Projects Strategy

For proactive people seeking holistic growth, it is suggested to work simultaneously on four fronts or projects for the year:

1) A business or income project (example creating a source of extra income).

2) A family project (e.g. an activity that brings the family together).

3) A social project (e.g. contribution or volunteering).

4) A personal growth project (e.g. learning a new skill or facing a fear). This ensures a balanced development in the critical areas of life.
