Transcription Self-Confidence and CNV Contagiousness
Body-Mind Feedback (Self-Affect)
Non-verbal communication (NVC) not only influences how others perceive us, but also has a direct impact on our own internal state. There is constant feedback between our body and our mind.
If your body sends certain signals (such as adopting a confident posture or speaking calmly), these signals not only reach others, but also reach yourself, influencing how you feel.
Physical actions and the way you present yourself can actively shape your emotional state and level of confidence.
The confidence loop: positive CNV elevates internal state.
This mind-body feedback can create a positive loop. When you consciously adopt positive CNV-such as taking up more space, maintaining a firm posture, and speaking confidently-this not only projects safety to others, but also reinforces your own sense of confidence.
Feeling better and more confident, in turn, leads you to exhibit an even more positive and effective CNV.
This virtuous cycle demonstrates how the intentional practice of confident body language can elevate your internal state and continually improve your presence.
Using "Fake it till you make it" to reset the state.
Sometimes, it can be easier to start by controlling the tangible aspects of your CNV (your posture, your speech, your surroundings) to influence the intangible aspects (how you feel, your level of confidence). This approach aligns with the concept of "fake it till you make it".
By acting as if you feel confident through your body language, you can "reset" your internal state and start to actually feel more confident.
Consciously using your CNV as a tool can help you elevate your own confidence from the outside in.
