Transcription Evaluate how receptive your customers are

Discovery sessions play an essential role in shaping a comprehensive client profile that encompasses professional, personal and emotional aspects of the client. A client does not always come to us with the same motivation or receptivity, so regardless of how well we do our job, it will not have the same effect on everyone equally, since the content to be received is not processed in the same way by those who are truly receptive and those who are not well disposed during the session.

During the development of this guide we will be analyzing some of the essential aspects related to the need to evaluate how receptive our clients are, in order to adapt our strategies and actions according to their emotional state.

What is the influence of knowing how receptive our clients are?

The service offered by a coach is directly linked to the interpersonal relationship and the client's ability to assimilate the content received and put into practice the knowledge learned in order to solve their problems and optimize their personal and spiritual development. If our client is receptive, the communication with him/her will flow in a better way, thus achieving that they assimilate efficiently each of your orientations and become consciously involved in the work to be done.

Knowing this, the importance of understanding how receptive our clients are, lies in the ease of using this information to build communication strategies that allow us to establish a sustainable relationship in favor of satisfying the client's interests, even when they are not at their best emotional moment.

Develop communication strategies for each particular client.

The communication strategies to be used will depend on the degree of receptivity of the client. If the client is not receptive during the development of our coaching sessions, we must resort to communicative resources that allow us to enter into an atmosphere of trust, where we can relax the tensions and provide the necessary space to the client so that he can develop efficiently without affecting the contents imparted.

Here plays a lot in favor the expertise and astuteness that the coach has, he must know how to determine the best way to transmit the contents, respecting each moment and offering the appropriate times to improve the emotional state of the client.

Keep track of the client's evolution

When you detect that your client is not receptive and therefore the development of the sessions is being affected, you will proceed to apply strategies in order to improve the client's state of mind.

To measure the effectiveness of these strategies, you should start by keeping a strict control of how the client's emotional state is developing over time. Make notes on a regular basis, scoring from 1 to 5 how focused and receptive the client was during the session. In this way you will be able to assess whether or not you should reformulate the strategies you are applying.

Involve the client in the problems he/she will have to face, he/she must understand that this is a task for both of you and that he/she cannot expect his/her emotional state to improve if he/she does not decide to work on it actively. You can let him know your criteria and evaluation of what you have perceived during each session, so that he knows if his projection is adequate or if he should continue working to improve.

It is not necessary to grieve for having bad periods, this is something that happens in all aspects of life, the important thing is the capacity we have to overcome and face the difficulties.
