Transcription Being self-critical of our objectives

Naturally, we stop between journeys and can take some time to analyze our decisions. An interesting exercise is to exercise self-criticism to evaluate our objectives. We can conclude whether the path we have chosen is the right one or whether the actions we are taking will lead us faster to our destination. Being self-critical can save us the critical opinion of people close to us that end up crumbling our beliefs or make us think differently about our goals. The sense of self-criticism fulfills in us the function of valuing our judgments to gain self-esteem. This is when we focus it with a positive purpose, but when we take it to the level of our shortcomings and difficulties we run the risk of turning it into something unfavorable and negative.

Self-criticism.

Self-criticism is a process of personal analysis through which we evaluate our actions or behaviors. The purpose is always to extract the positive aspects that make us original and to work on the negative aspects that can affect us. It is important to be prepared for this activity because what causes our self-criticism to become negative or positive depends on the internal dialogue in which we immerse ourselves. We can take into account all the sectors of our life where we act, family, work, interpersonal relationships and even our own way of thinking.

Positive self-criticism

We know that we are in a constant evaluation of our objectives and these are based on the internal state in which we find ourselves. The positive or constructive self-criticism has the mission to recognize the advantageous parts of our personality and with which we can achieve more and better goals. With this we can highlight the main values such as responsibility and coherence necessary to maintain a self-discipline of life. Self-criticism of our behaviors allows us to assume leadership roles as well as to recognize mistakes and their repercussions for the future. One of the aspects that constructive self-criticism helps us is to strengthen our mental and conscious maturity. Generally we need to submit ourselves to self-criticism after having made mistakes either in behavior or in the face of events that require our decision.

Negative self-criticism.

This is an element of which we must be very careful, the negative self-criticism. It is normal that other people see the negative in you, and up to a certain point it is not harmful, but when we are the ones who identify ourselves with this type of personal destruction then we are on the wrong track. When we criticize ourselves in a negative way we bring out our defects as something irremediable and we end up complexing and immobilizing ourselves to the next events of our life.

Feeling the distance even more between us and our goals is a normal emotion when we only see insecurity for having made a mistake in the past. A negative aspect of destructive self-criticism are inferiority complexes that lead us to an introspection of our personality to predispose us. Once we think in this way, everything around us begins to manifest itself in a lewd way, limiting our ability to achieve our goals and causing us to abandon many of them, disassociating us from our initial course.

The excess of self-criticism.

Like all things, excess always brings consequences and in this case self-criticism is no exception. If we constantly self-evaluate ourselves, we can erroneously conclude that no effort is enough to achieve our goals. We fall into the habit in negative situations that it is our fault for

our objectives
