In this guide we will help you to prepare simple and at the same time nutritious dishes of the vegan diet. You can vary the ingredients and substitute the ones shown here for those you like or have available at the moment; just remember to respect the nutritional value and the amount of calories so that the meals are just as appropriate as the ones we propose below.

Abobo criollo: For this recipe you will need the following ingredients:

  • 2 onions
  • 2 red peppers
  • 2 green peppers
  • 4 tomatoes
  • 200 ml apple cider vinegar
  • 2 small spoonfuls of salt
  • 2 small spoonfuls of oregano
  • 200 ml olive oil
  • 2 small spoonfuls of white pepper

To prepare the adobo criollo we will follow the following steps:

  • First chop the onions, peppers and tomatoes into small pieces as evenly as possible.
  • Place them in a deep bowl and mix.
  • In another bowl, prepare the dressing. Mix the olive oil with the apple cider vinegar, season with salt and pepper and add the spices.
  • Add this dressing to the bowl with the chopped vegetables and mix.
  • Let stand and chill in the refrigerator for 5 hours before serving.

Cooked chard: For this recipe you will need the following ingredients:

  • 1kg of chard
  • Pepper
  • Salt
  • Olive oil

To prepare the cooked chard follow these steps:

  • First wash the chard and separate the stalk from the leaves.
  • We chop both parts into small pieces as homogeneous as possible.
  • Then in a pot with hot water and salt, we put the stem pieces to boil for approximately 10 minutes and after this time, we add the leaves and let them cook for 4 more minutes.
  • Remove from the fire, strain and serve.
  • Add pepper to taste and a drizzle of olive oil.

Strawberry jam: For this recipe you will need the following ingredients:

  • 400 grams of red strawberries
  • 1 cup of elk syrup

To prepare the strawberry jam follow the steps below:

  • This recipe is very simple to prepare and is ideal to accompany whole wheat toast for breakfast.
  • Just mix the ingredients in a pot and cook over low heat for about 30 minutes.
  • Always stirring and checking its texture.
  • Once satisfied with the result, cool to room temperature, serve in a jar
