The kaizen approach to goal setting


The Kaizen approach, which originated in Japan and whose meaning translates as "change for the better" or "continuous improvement," offers a philosophy and a set of practical principles that can be effectively applied to setting and achieving personal goals and new habits. It is based on the idea of making small, steady improvements rather than seeking drastic and immediate changes.

Basic Principles of Kaizen Applied to Goals

Kaizen is based on three fundamental principles when applied to the achievement of objectives:

For example, when writing a book, focusing only on the end result (published book) could generate unhappiness during the long writing process.
