Incorporating gratitude into daily life is a fundamental technique for increasing positive emotions and overall well-being.

This involves being aware of and appreciating both what we already own and the people who are part of our daily routine.

Gratitude for the Existing

The first step is to be grateful for life itself and for all those things we already have in the present, instead of focusing only on what we want or lack.

This recognition of present abundance is a pillar of gratitude.

Expressing Gratitude to People Close to You

It is crucial to be grateful to the people around us on a daily basis, such as children, parents or partners.

Often, we think of thanking them, but we don't express it verbally, assuming they already know.

However, hearing the appreciation has a different and deeper impact than simply knowing it.

Striving to explicitly and frequently thank these loved ones improves one's well-being and strengthens relationships.

Receiving Appreciation

Learning to receive a thank you is also part of this practice. When someone thanks us, common responses such as "you're welcome" or "no problem" may unconsciously convey the idea that the favor could become a burden or a problem in the future.

It is suggested that these answers be changed. One option is to simply say "quiet" or "ready".
