Transcription Savoring the good moments

Consciously stopping to enjoy and "savor" the good moments is an essential technique for increasing positive emotions and overall well-being.

It involves being fully present in pleasant experiences, rather than allowing the mind to wander to worries or pending tasks.

The Importance of Mental Presence

It is common that, even during pleasant activities such as a family walk, the mind is occupied with work issues or future concerns.

This disconnection prevents us from fully enjoying the present moment. For example, it is sad to see people who, while physically with their children in a shopping mall, mentally remain connected to work or their bosses.

Similarly, couples going out to dinner may spend time interacting on their phones instead of connecting with each other.

Commitment to the Present Moment

To counteract this tendency, it is crucial to make a conscious effort to be present in your activities.

If you decide to spend time with your family, such as going for a walk, your attention should be with them.

If you go out to dinner with your partner, that time should be dedicated to the couple, leaving aside external distractions such as work or social networks.

This aligns with the principle of living in the present, a recurring idea in the search for well-being.

Leaving work worries at work and interactions with friends for their corresponding moments allows each experience to be lived more fully.
