Drinking water is one of the simplest ways to contribute to maintaining an adequate state of health and general well-being. However, a large number of people consume significantly less water than their bodies require, which leads to the appearance of various conditions that threaten our quality of life. Dehydration, caused as a result of a deficiency in the amount of water provided compared to the amount lost during the day, is much more common than is believed, and is a triggering factor for many of the kidney problems experienced by the general population.

The main belief to overthrow regarding water consumption habits is the belief that we should drink water only when we feel thirsty. Thirst is a natural symptom of our organism, but it is not necessarily linked to its hydration levels. To understand a little more about this important topic, we will be developing this guide. The above expresses the need to attend to other factors, beyond thirst, if we want to maintain an adequate level of hydration in our organism. Many people experience very isolated periods of thirst during the day, so they are not encouraged to drink water. Thirst as an indicator of hydration is flawed in many ways and is not a reliable measure of water levels in the body.
