Transcription Emotional Mastery. Stress as a Controllable State

The Paradigm of Stress as a State, not a Disease

It is essential to challenge the commonly accepted idea that stress is a permanent disease, since in reality it is nothing more than a transitory emotional state.

We do not suffer from stress as if it were a chronic condition, but rather we enter and exit emotional states that are intimately linked to this sensation.

This course is based on the powerful and liberating premise that it is absolutely possible to learn to enter and exit this emotional state practically whenever we want.

The teaching presented here does not come from a textbook, but is based on valuable personal experiences over time.

Although it is okay to feel and emotions are a fundamental part of our humanity, it is crucial to learn to identify which of them are causing us unnecessary harm.

The Origin of the State of Stress: The Perception of the Problem

The sensation Stress only appears in our lives at the precise moment when we feel and perceive internally that we have a problem that seems to overwhelm us.

This means that the biggest problem we face is not the external situation, but the way in which our own emotions respond to that situation.

This state is made up of an uncomfortable feeling of frustration, which is often accompanied by other intense emotions such as rage or anger.

Stress manifests itself when we find ourselves trapped in the space between the situation we are in and the one we would truly like to be in.

In the end, we recognize that stress is an emotion of discomfort that is generated within us when we feel that we do not know how to achieve our deepest desires.

Consciousness as a Tool of Control

The ability to enter and exit this emotional state at will depends entirely on our ability to be aware of what is happening to us internally.

To achieve this, a process of self-analysis is essential in which we ask ourselves what we are seeing as a problem and why we are feeling that way.

We must learn to identify, recognize, discover and discern precisely what we are thinking and feeling in each moment of pressure, in order to understand the root.

This exercise of introspection allows us to stop reacting automatically and begin to take control of why we are identifying a specific situation as a problem.

It is this awakening of consciousness that is the first step to being able to manage our emotions and, therefore, to being able to get out of the state of stress when we decide to do so.

The Way Out: Identifying the Path to the Solution

The state of stress persists as long as we feel trapped in the gap that separates our current reality from the vision we have for our personal and professional future.

The key to being able to quickly get out of this emotional condition is to identify a clear and viable path that allows us to build a bridge between where we are and where we want to go.

At the precise moment in which we manage to generate a plan and find a way to move in the right direction, the feeling of stress begins to dissipate completely.

The anxiety disappears because our mind stops focusing on the problem and begins to actively concentrate on executing the steps that will lead us to the solution.
