Intelligence in itself is of little use if we do not know how to take advantage of it, an intelligent person needs to exercise his intelligence if he wants to develop it towards satisfactory results, otherwise, it will not be possible to obtain appreciable yields and we will end up wasting all the potential that we have received naturally.

There are several techniques developed in order to enhance the intelligence of the subject, helping him to exercise his brain to bring out the innate talent with which he has been endowed. The following lines will be dedicated to this subject, where we will seek to outline in a general way some of the best known techniques in this regard.

Get enough sleep

Much has been studied on the importance of sleep in cognitive processes, the relationship between cognitive performance and hours of sleep is extremely high. The studies developed in this regard show the negative impact that lack of sleep has on a subject's ability to solve problems. If you want to be in an optimal state when studying or working, it is important that you take care of your rest, otherwise your intelligence will be significantly overshadowed by the brain wear suffered due to lack of sleep.

When we sleep we give our brain a space to process the information obtained during the day, this is the explanation why we manage to find solutions to pending problems once we wake up. These pauses are necessary and enhance our learning process.

Try to sleep at night, since it is irreplaceable. It is advisable to rest at least 7 hours a day, which is the minimum time necessary to repair the wear and tear suffered during the day. As a last alternative, only for exceptional moments, you can take short naps during the day, but remember that the nighttime sleep schedule is essential and cannot be recovered through these daytime naps.

Do physical exercises

When we do physical exercise our brain benefits considerably. Stress levels decrease significantly, which allows us to release the burdens and problems of everyday life.

It is a way to externalize pent-up energy and control anxiety. Generally, people who occupy executive positions in important companies or perform tasks of great intellectual demand, learn to value the importance of practicing exercises daily. Hence the popular phrase "a healthy mind in a healthy body".

Perform mental exercises

The brain should be seen as just another muscle that needs to be exercised in order not to atrophy. Just as we cannot shape our body if we do not exercise it, we cannot nourish our mind if we do not make it work regularly.

Doing memory exercises and solving problems through crossword puzzles or Sudoku puzzles will allow you to keep your brain active and oxygenated.

A good practice is to try to learn a new skill such as playing a musical instrument or learning a new language. When we subject ourselves to novel cognitive experiences such as learning that instrument or that new language, we force our brain to get out of its comfort zone and increase its potential to learn new things. This explains why when we get to learn one language, the next one comes much easier. Similarly with musical instruments, it may take us years to master one, but then we can learn three more in the same amount of time.

Reading is a very healthy practice, it exercises the memory and enhances our communication skills.
