Transcription Conditions for the study
Studying is an activity that requires a strong expenditure of energy, we undergo a process in which we seek to acquire new knowledge or skills, therefore our brain must work at overexertion, because it is not facing a mechanical or routine activity, but must be receptive to facilitate the apprehension of that knowledge.
That said, there are some things we can do to make the learning process less hostile. We are referring to working on the study conditions. Regardless of what your case is, how much space you have at home, if there is a lot of noise or not, you can always improve many aspects that will allow you to condition your study space in a more pleasant way.
We will talk about this topic below, where we will discuss in general terms some aspects that you should take into account when creating and arranging your study space.
Organize your desk
No matter the size of the table where you do your homework, make sure you only have on it what you need to do your homework. A tidy, simple desk with few elements gives a feeling of calm, relieves stress and provides control and mastery over the space.
Do not leave your books or notes untidy on the table once you finish your studies, if you are not going to use them again it is better to put them away.
This way the impression you will get when you resume with your homework will be better than if you have to start with picking up, cleaning or understanding what each of the items you left on the table is. It is a simple time-saving mechanism that will not affect you if you practice it daily.
Have good lighting
Sometimes, when we study from the computer, we neglect the lighting in the room. This is a very common mistake, which in the long term significantly affects our eyesight, wearing it out and causing severe disorders. The problems will also be noticeable in the short period of time, our performance will drop considerably as we get tired more easily, we may experience headaches, discomfort and dizziness due to the strong contrasts of light between the environment in which we are and the light emanating from the computer.
If you are going to write on paper, a lamp on the desk can be a good idea, so that it reflects the light on what we are writing and we have to strain our eyes less, besides it can help us to prevent unnecessary mistakes. Needless to say, studying in the dark is a very contraindicated practice, so if you are one of those who enjoy studying at night, make sure you have enough light.
Gather everything you need
Before starting an assignment make sure you have everything you need. This applies to both a book and a scissors, the point is to avoid distractions, having to stop to look for something you need and have to sacrifice part of your time in this. It is common that when we make a forced stop we completely lose concentration or rhythm, as well as we will be more tempted to fall into distractions along the way. If possible, you may want to have water or refreshments within reach, anything that will reduce the chances of you having to get up from your seat before you finish your homework.
Remember that your study space should be a friendly, not a hostile, environment. It is a place that you must master and adapt to your needs in order to increase your efficiency and performance in the study.
