Transcription Motivation with Study Techniques
Motivation when studying plays a fundamental role in the learning process. It is important to know our personal characteristics and those factors that cause us that feeling of adrenaline that we can use to our advantage. Motivation can be found in internal sources or in sources external to the content we study.
When we submit to the studies, in an unmotivated way, it is much more complex to fix the learned contents, in the same way, it is more tedious to sustain the study for long hours. This is because we are less receptive to perform activities that we do not like, and the feeling of obligation is counterproductive to our learning process. Motivation depends on several factors, including our goals, the source of our motivation, and persistence. The combination of all these elements will lead to greater or lesser motivation.
Next we will analyze how motivation behaves in the learning process, so that we understand the importance of enhancing it according to our interests.
The importance of motivation
Motivation plays a very important role, it is necessary in all aspects of our life, from the moment we wake up we need motivation to stand up and face the day, go out to work and perform those tasks that we find more tedious. It works as a very powerful external force, sometimes it comes naturally while sometimes we must go looking for it. That is why athletes, artists and professionals are inspired by various sources to get more motivated in their work. Sometimes the difference between a successful result and a failure is nothing more than the motivation that the subject had to face a certain activity.
For a student it is very important to focus on goals, to see beyond the moment in which he is, with the perspective that every state of sacrifice is temporary, transitory and a means to a greater end. Think about that subject that you have passed, the acquisition of a new skill and what it will represent in your future. The bigger the goal, the more sacrifice we must be willing to endure, this makes the obstacles seem smaller and more bearable.
The origin
Motivation can have different origins and all of them are valid. You can find it within the activity you are performing. Perhaps the reason for overcoming a subject is the satisfaction of passing a year, or the source of motivation may come from external sources. It is also likely that you do not like what you are studying, but you know that once you are done with it you will have enough time to perform other tasks of your liking, so you are motivating yourself from an external source to fulfill the activities you have pending.
That said, any source is equally important to motivate you, what is essential is that you know how to take advantage of it and focus it on your task.
Practice asking yourself questions such as:
- Why do I want to finish what I am doing?
- What benefits will I get from accomplishing this task?
Sometimes these simple questions are enough to find the motivation you need to push yourself harder and achieve what you want. You can add additional rewards if you consider that you need to increase the rewards, maybe buy yourself something you like only when you finish what you have pending, or go out and have fun with friends once you finish your responsibilities.
